Author Guidelines
How to Submit Your Manuscript
Journal of Energy, Materials & Sustainability (JENMAS)
JENMAS welcomes high-quality manuscripts in energy, materials, and sustainability. We follow a “Your Manuscript, Your Way” submission policy, allowing authors to submit their work in MS word format (in addition to single PDF) for the first review cycle. This reduces formatting burden and speeds up the submission process, especially during early drafts.
1. Prepare Your Manuscript
For initial submission, you may upload your manuscript in MS word format provided it includes:
- Clear section headings
- Complete author details on the title page
- Figures and tables embedded in the text or uploaded separately
- Properly cited references (any citation style is acceptable at first submission)
No template is required for the first submission.
Only manuscripts that are accepted will be asked to follow the journal’s final formatting instructions.
Your submission must include these essential components:
- Title page: author names, affiliations, and corresponding author email
- Abstract and keywords
- Main text (introduction → methods → results → discussion → conclusion or equivalent structure)
- Figures and tables (embedded or separate)
- Author Credit Statement (See details below)
· Data Availability Statement
· Funding Statement
· Acknowledgements
- References (any consistent format)
- Cover letter (brief)
- Ethical declarations, where applicable
JANMAS required CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) to provide information on submission, allowing for detailed information about individual contributions to the work. The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that contributions of all authors are correct. https://credit.niso.org/
2. Create an Account on the Submission System
All submissions are made via our online portal:

Steps:
- Click Register if you are a new user
- Complete your author profile (name, affiliation, ORCID, email)
- Log in to begin the submission process
3. Start a New Submission
After logging in:
- Select “New Submission”
- Choose the appropriate article type
- Complete the submission checklist
- Confirm the declarations on originality, ethics, and author consent
4. Upload Your Files
Upload the required components:
Mandatory uploads:
- Manuscript file (PDF and Word)
- Figures and tables (embedded or separate)
- Cover letter
Optional:
- Supplementary data
- Graphical abstract
- Suggested reviewers
5. Enter Manuscript Metadata
For accurate indexing and discoverability, please enter:
- Title
- Abstract
- Keywords (5–7)
- Author names, emails, affiliations, ORCID iDs
- Suggested Reviewers
- Funding information
- Conflict of interest statement
- Data availability statement
Correct metadata ensures your paper is properly indexed and searchable.
6. Submit Your Manuscript
Before completing the submission:
- Review all uploaded files
- Verify author details
- Confirm all co-authors approve the submission
Click “Finish Submission”.
You will receive an automated email confirming receipt and providing a manuscript ID.
